We’re looking for independent, reliable and compassionate Support Workers to join our Swanton Community Services Team as a Personal Assistant Support Worker. This role involves home visits and community‑based support across the Hertfordshire area, helping adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs live meaningful, independent lives.
It is essential applicants for this role hold a full UK driving licence.
You’ll work to set shift patterns, giving you structure while still enjoying the flexibility of full‑time or part‑time hours.
What you’ll do
- Provide person‑centred support during home visits across Hertfordshire
- Promote independence and encourage individuals to achieve personal goals
- Ensure safety and wellbeing, reporting any changes in circumstances
- Support people to engage in their local community - from shopping trips to events
- Communicate with compassion, using each person’s preferred methods
- Work confidently and independently while being part of a supportive wider team
We are looking for
- A driver with access to a vehicle (essential for outreach work)
- Someone independent, reliable and comfortable working alone
- A caring, patient and positive approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic IT skills
- Commitment to delivering high‑quality support
- Willingness to work towards a Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care
